Privacy Policy of playgen.io
Last Updated: 1st April 2024
playgen.io is operated by R. N. Studio LTD, a gaming studio based in the UK with license number 15288797 and having its registered address at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WCH 9Q. R. N. Studio LTD (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, usage, and disclosure practices for playgen.io, which offers a gaming platform embedded on third-party websites and accessible to two types of users: players and administrators (“Admins”). This policy also outlines users' rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This policy applies to:
- Players: Individuals who play games embedded by our customers on third-party websites.
- Admins: Authorized users who access our Content Management System (CMS) to create, modify, and analyze game content and performance.
2. Information We Collect and Purposes of Collection
A. For Players
We do not collect personal or identifying information from players. Our data collection is limited to non-identifiable metrics directly related to gameplay, intended for analysis and game improvement purposes only.
Data collected from players includes:
- Interaction Metrics: Data regarding game completions, in-game actions (such as pressing the Mute button), and scores.
- Unique Identifier: We generate a unique, anonymous identifier stored locally on the player's device to track game interactions without capturing personal data.
B. For Admins
Admins create accounts to access playgen.io’s CMS. The following information may be collected from Admins:
- Account Information: Username, password, and other necessary information for authentication.
- Usage Data: Data about interactions within the CMS, including content creation activities and access to analytics.
3. Optional Cross-Platform Unique ID
Customers have the option to enable a feature where they may send us a unique identifier (“uniqueId”) and a pseudonymized username. This uniqueId, transmitted via secure post message, is a hashed, non-identifiable string that links to the customer's own user mechanism for cross-platform support. This uniqueId should not contain any PII (Personal Identifiable Information), such as emails or phone numbers, and we expressly request that customers avoid sending real user IDs, using hashed or anonymized data instead.
This uniqueId is used solely to enable cross-platform functionality and maintain linkage to the customer’s user system without tracking personal information.
4. Legal Basis and Purpose for Processing Information
Our legal basis for processing data is as follows:
- Legitimate Interest: We process non-identifiable gameplay data to support our customers in understanding game performance.
- Consent: Admins provide consent by registering an account and accessing the CMS.
- Compliance with Legal Obligations: We may process information as required by applicable laws.
5. Data Retention
We retain collected data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:
- Player Data: Retained as long as the game is embedded on a third-party website. Once the game is removed, all associated gameplay data collection ceases.
- Admin Data: Retained as long as the Admin account is active or as required for legitimate business purposes.
6. Data Security
We use appropriate technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect all data collected against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While we strive to implement robust security practices, no system can be entirely secure. Users acknowledge the inherent risks associated with internet-based data transmission.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
playgen.io does not share, sell, or disclose personal data to third parties except as follows:
- Service Providers: We may engage trusted third-party service providers to support our platform’s operations, who are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
8. International Data Transfers and GDPR Compliance
We are committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant privacy regulations. For users located in the European Union or European Economic Area, this includes:
- Right to Access: Admins have the right to request access to their data and obtain information regarding its processing.
- Right to Rectification: Admins may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Right to Erasure: Admins may request the deletion of their personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
- Right to Data Portability: Admins have the right to request a copy of their data in a commonly used format.
- Right to Restrict Processing: Admins may restrict processing of their data under certain conditions.
- Right to Object: Admins may object to data processing for specific reasons.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@playgen.io. We may request verification of identity before processing such requests.
9. Children's Privacy
Our platform is intended for users thirteen years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from individuals under thirteen. If we become aware of information collected from a child under thirteen, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.
